Anyone who owns "In A Space Outta Sound" should definitely add Adrian Sherwood's reworked version, "In A Space Outta Dub," to their collection. Beforehand, be sure to study the album thoroughly, as Sherwood's interpretations of the Nightmares on Wax tracks from 2006 are more than worth listening to. Nightmares on Wax, by the way, is the brainchild of DJ and producer George Evelyn – who also earns his living as DJ Ease.
CREATIVE TWISTS
Sherwood took eight tracks from the original album and interpreted them with all his might. This takes a lot of courage, because anyone familiar with the original has pretty much no questions left unanswered. However, on IN A SPACE OUTTA DUB, Sherwood brings out the chilled-out vibe even more and allows himself a few creative twists that, without exception, work perfectly. We hear dub (Sherwood's specialty), reggae, and lots and lots of bass.
